| | | | The conductor of the Czech Philharmonic and the chief conductor of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, Vladimír Válek attributes much of his musical ability to his upbringing in a family of music teachers. In 1985, Maestro Válek took over the post of chief conductor of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. Today the Radio Symphony stands side by side with the Czech Philharmonic and the Prague Symphony Orchestra as an important component of Prague's musical life. Independent of his duties as the orchestra's artistic director, Maestro Válek serves as the guest conductor of numerous symphonies. He has given performances in twenty-five European countries, the United States, the Near East, and the Far East, and was a guest of the Israeli Philharmonic in Tel Aviv. |
