| | | | After earning a doctorate in music composition from the University of Southern California, James Lentini (b. 1958) returned to his hometown Detroit where he is now Associate Professor of Composition at Wayne State University. Lentini’s music has been performed by such ensembles as the Bohuslav Martinu Orchestra, the Plymouth (Michigan) Symphony, the Xian String Quartet, the Philadelphia Trio, the Lyric Chamber Ensemble, the St. Clair Trio, and Canada’s Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, and he has been honored with the Atwater-Kent Composition Award, the McHugh Composition Prize, and several awards from ASCAP. Two of his works—the Concerto for Guitar and Strings, and Fantasy for Flute and Guitar—are published by Acoma-Nambe Editions, and his Music for Brass is recorded on a Capstone CD. |
