| | | Alice Countryman studied at the Juilliard School of Music, the University of Illinois and Rutgers University, where she received a degree in Music Education. Now living in Anchorage, Alaska, she is especially interested in bringing Alaskan Eskimo and Indian folk material into the concert hall and often uses Eskimo themes in her music.
Countryman has written works for chamber orchestra, mixed choir, brass quintet, string quartet, solo piano and small chamber groups. Her music has been performed in concert, on television and radio throughout the United States and in Germany and Sweden. |
