The other city that you must mention is New Orleans. New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz and still has strong ties to its musical heritage. The musicians have a distinctive style of groove that is not heard anywhere else. There is definitely a New Orleans style of jazz that is popular around the world and the best place to learn it is right there in New Orleans.
